UPDATE June 12, 2014

 Under 13 Girls Team

In their efforts to fund raise for our trip to the Eastern Canadians the girls have been giving back too.

They did a grocery bagging fundraiser at Dominion and 10% of funds raised went to PC Charity.  That totaled $240.

In addition, May 31 they did a bottle drive.  From that the girls donated $100 to the Janeway Foundation.

Watch for the girls in "The Pearl" in the next couple of weeks.

Great work!

Our U13 Boys Club team held a small fundraiser on a Mother's Day gift basket. The draw was today and the winner was Scelina Wilson, ticket #462187.

The MPMBA Executive would like to extend a huge thank you to all our staff, parents and especially our players who made this year a great success and a lot of fun!

We encourage parents to express any comments they may have of our program to us via email, mp.minor.bb@gmail.com. We would appreciate all feedback as we continue to work in improving our program for the children of Mount Pearl and surrounding communities.

Please keep checking our website as we will continue to post here any updates and information for our upcoming season.

We wish all our families a safe and Happy Easter as well as summer break. Looking forward to seeing you again in September.

Also the last session for our program will be on Sunday, April 13 and not April 6 as originally noted. Where we lost the first Sunday after the Christmas break due to power/heat issues, our make-up session will be on April 13. This is not yet reflected on our schedule.

Our AGM is being held this Wednesday, February 26, at 8:00pm in the Glacier Lounge (3rd floor). We encourage all to attend. We are looking for new volunteers to join our Executive and would appreciate new faces joining to help us grow our successful program! Looking forward to seeing you!

What a busy weekend for MPMBA! Four of our club teams were involved with tournaments over the weekend and all teams came out with medals!! Congratulations to our U13 Girls and U13 Boys for winning silver medals in their respective Provincial Club Championships! Also our U11 Boys Club team and U12 Girls Club team both won Gold medals in our Frosty Festival Basketball Tournament!! Needless to say we have quite a few proud parents today. A special thank you to the U11 and U12 parents along with the MPMBA executive who jointly hosted the Frosty tournament. It went very smoothly with a lot of positive comments. Hard to play basketball outside in Newfoundland in the winter!

Some of our players in Grades 4, 5 & 6 took part in the second annual NLBA 3 on 3 Jamboree that was held on November 22 at the Power Plex Facility in St. John's. A fun time was had by all as they got to play a friendly game of 3 on 3 basketball with other basketball clubs. Thank you to our volunteer coaches and referees in helping make this another positive experience for the kids.
